Analysis of Security Threats and Performance Evaluation of Some Block Structured Ciphers
The essential technology underlying virtually all automated networks and computer security applications is encryption. The hackers try their effort in concealing, fabricating and intercepting the transmitted data by attacking the information security system. These security threats are classified as passive and active threats. In this paper, the authors have made an analytical research of different kinds of security threats. Further, they have investigated the appropriate crypto-system to meet the security concern of the networks. They have enlisted and advised for some block structured ciphers namely DES and 3DES to perform the task of encryption in tightening the security from hackers.
