Angel Versus Moodle: In Search of an LMS

City College of San Francisco is part of the Community College system serving over 100,000 students. In the past few years City College has opted to expand its distance learning offerings by adding e-learning as an additional delivery mode. The intent was to benefit the current and potentially additional population of students that need flexibility not possible in an exclusive face-to-face delivery mode. City College has developed three delivery modes: 100% online, blended and tech enhanced. The blended learning uses a combination of online delivery and face-to-face meetings. Tech enhanced uses elearning technology to enhance face-to-face classes. The platform used by the college is WebCT which was later on purchased by Blackboard. This paper will focus on this transition: the challenges and results.
