AngloGold Ashanti's Clustered Database Environment Makes Transactional Data Sets Highly Available

AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. wanted to ensure optimal implementation of Oracle Database 11g and stream 50 terabytes of spatial information from a central point to all global operations, for both greenfields and brownfields. The challenge was to deliver highly available platform for Oracle 11g environment to facilitate dissemination of data for global exploration teams and accommodate future growth in data volumes and access demands. AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. implemented a two-node system of Oracle Real Application Clusters across special and online transactional datasets and guaranteed future scalability and availability.
