Application of Embedded System in Remote Vehicle Control Unit
Source: University of West Florida
Built in remote car starters with keyless entry have become a standard in most high end cars today. In addition, high end cars can recognize which key is being used and set various functions such as AC, radio, and seat position. Also, keyless entry and engine start have become a popular addition to most vehicles, key recognition functionality still remains expensive to add to most vehicles. The 'Remote Vehicle Starter' uses FPGA technology to replace expensive digital circuits. The 'Remote Vehicle Starter' also offers RF uplink and downlink which is a superior alternative to the common IR. In addition, the remote vehicle starter is user friendly.
