Source: Oracle
Canada's leading independent manager of third-party real estate assets, Arcturus Realty Corporation manages portfolios of office, major retail, and industrial properties. It delivers comprehensive property and facilities management in financial services, pension funds, retail and public sector industries, and also to private investors. The challenge faced by Arcturus was of reducing paper consumption by 30 per cent and to comply with Canadian Real Estate Industry practices and standards related to environmental sustainability within the commercial, industrial, and retail sectors. Management of real estate properties by reducing the company's corporate carbon footprint and to increase green business processes was another issue. For the solution, Arcturus worked with AITO Solutions Ltd. to implement Oracle Web Center Suite to electronically scan and save documents - ultimately saving 4.8 tons of paper each year. Also, they used Oracle SOA Suite to automate and orchestrate management report generation, resulting in a 60 per cent decrease in greenhouse emission. The use of Oracle Fusion Middleware completely eliminated the report collation and generation process and Oracle WebCenter Suite was used to deliver management reports electronically. Oracle SOA Suite was also used along with third party technology to manage transportation costs and gas emissions through optimized operations management of buildings and building systems - resulting in a 15 per cent reduction in energy use across 600 properties.
