Bandwidth Estimation in Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET)

In this paper, the authors presents bandwidth estimation scheme for MANET, which uses some components of the two methods for the bandwidth estimation: "Hello Bandwidth Estimation" & "Listen Bandwidth Estimation." This paper also gives the advantages of the proposed method. The proposed method is based on the comparison of these two methods. Bandwidth estimation is an important issue in the Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANET) because bandwidth estimation in MANET is difficult, because each host has imprecise knowledge of the network status and links change dynamically. Therefore, an effective bandwidth estimation scheme for MANET is highly desirable.
