DataVision was seeking an alternative hardware solution to recommend to its banking clients, which would offer high performance and support in remote areas without requiring a compromise on cost. The company ran performance tests on Dell PowerEdge servers with Intel Xeon 7400 series processor technology and found a significant improvement in performance over RISC-based servers favored by banks. As a result Dell PowerEdge servers complete batch processing tasks 40 percent faster than RISC-based servers.
