Belgian Police Makes Wage Calculations for Its 48,000 Staff More Transparent and Accurate

Belgian Police wanted to develop a centralized payroll engine at the SSGPI level that the 197 federal and local police units will be able to access and convert the existing complex data system and interfaces with other external systems like general ledger, reporting systems and interfaces to external governmental systems (Social Security). The challenge was to contribute to administrative simplification and empowerment of police zones, to maximize resources for serving the public. Belgian Police increased efficiency and accuracy by migrating all payroll-related data to Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Resources, which is integrated with a complex Belgian payroll system via a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
