With the exponential growth of data over the last five to seven years, the task has started to become overwhelming, to say the least. And with the additional stress of data retention due to federal regulations, the ability to grow and manage at the same time has become crucial - not only to keeping the job, but also to becoming a valuable player in the organization. This paper assumes that the existing Storage Area Network (SAN) is operating in a production environment with servers and storage connected through a Fibre Channel switch with remote management capabilities.
