Bit-Error-Tolerant (512N)B/(513N+1)B Code for 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s Ethernet Transport
Source: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
The authors propose a transcoding from 64B/66B to (512N)B/(513N+1)B for bandwidth-efficient transmission of 10Gb/s, 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s Ethernet (10/40/100 GbE). They clarify the bit-error tolerance with more than 10 billion years of mean time to false packet acceptance (MTTFPA) for transcoded 40 GbE transport over OTN. They also propose that the 512B/514B code with Forward Error Correction is applicable to the 10/40/100 GbE transmission.
