Campus-Wide Wireless Network Serves 45,000 Users Across 1,400 Acres and More Than 200 Buildings

In an increasingly connected society, a new educational imperative is for students, staff and faculty to have access to information available throughout a University setting and of course, the Internet. The challenge was to provide ubiquitous wireless access to every single student, educator and administrator on campus. In addition, the University intended to reduce administrative costs of disparate systems across campus by establishing central management and integration with existing wired network technology. Beyond the size and scope of the implementation, the University has already implemented some unique applications utilizing the wireless network.
