Case Study: Ingres Takes Advantage of Identity Management in the Cloud

This case study is about Ingres that is open source database software and support services provider, which aims to improve its online community in the area of identity management by making it easy to use. Ingres turned to TriCiper to execute a Web single sign-on solution (SOS) after making use of cloud-based identity and access management offering for its applications. Ingres improved its online community's customer experience after benefiting from saving costs and improved security. This study talks about Ingres that has created an online service with more than 12000 users, contributors, developers, and participants. It now uses a cloud-based identity and access management that has made it fast and also helped it in reducing the cost of implementation by avoiding any changes to its infrastructure. This study mentions and discusses various benefits of using cloud-based services that provides organizations with better security solutions. It eliminates the need to remember various passwords and provides secure access to all applications. Implementing web SOS for customer-facing applications can increase customer's use of the application and its approval. Users do not need to log-in into multiple applications that can save their time and energy. This study is provided for security and risk professionals. It discusses Ingres' initial working with three separate domains and a number of different applications that changed with its execution of Web SOS.
