Channel Capacity Evaluation of Single Antenna Interference Cancellation for Single Carrier Transmission Systems
Source: University of Erlangen-Nuremberg
Network capacity of cellular mobile radio systems is often limited by interference from co- and adjacent channel interferers due to dense frequency planning (reuse) in practical scenarios. For single carrier systems like GSM/EDGE, Single Antenna Interference Cancellation (SAIC) algorithms are already considered in practice to enhance receiver performance (for single antenna devices) and therefore increase network capacity. Various algorithms for different modulation alphabets have been proposed in the literature. In this paper, capacity in terms of information rate is evaluated for a multi - user scenario modeled as Multiple - Input Single - Output (MISO) fading InterSymbol Interference (ISI) channel and theoretical limits for SAIC under different constraints are pointed out.
