Cloud computing, a relatively recent term builds on decades of research in virtualization, distributed computing, utility computing, networking, web and software services. It provides a service oriented architecture to reduce the information technology overhead for the end user. It also provides great flexibility, on-demand services, reduced total cost of ownership and many other things. This paper discusses the concept of cloud computing and its applicability in business. Corporate IT has always promised to make companies more agile. In the 1990s many companies re-engineered their business processes when they started using a form of software called Enterprise-Resource Planning (ERP), which efficiently manages firm's finances and employees.
