Smart Orthotics Limited is a New Zealand based technology company that has designed and developed a world-first 'Smart' disability aid that enables disabled users to walk by using patented robotic technologies. In order to complete the development of its robotic exoskeleton mobility aid and prepare for release to market, Smart Orthotics required tools that would reduce development time and costs whilst enhancing greater collaboration, communication and shared learning amongst a mobile multi disciplined product development team. Smart Orthotics deployed the Microsoft Office 2007 suite, Office Groove 2007, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and Windows Vista 2007, creating a secure IT infrastructure that supports business needs and enables mobile collaboration within the team.
