Competitive Management Cost Study: IBM Storwize V7000 vs EMC VNX5500 Storage Systems
Source: IBM
Edison's Competitive Management Cost Study (CMCS) methodology was designed based on Edison's research over several years. It quantifies the complexity of managing a storage array in a way that easily translates into operational expense. The present study applies this methodology in comparing the relative complexity and ease-of-use of management consoles for two storage systems built for mid-sized organizations: IBM Storwize V7000 and EMC VNX5500. While the two products compared in this study are both unified storage systems, this study specifically evaluated only their block-based storage features.
