Component Standards and Web Technologies
Source: iCMG
The needs of software development is as broad as the world itself leading to a lot of internet jargons and standards flooding the IT industry. In this paper the focus is on how to leverage the technical benefits of upcoming web standards (SOAP, UDDI, and WSDL) and the widely accepted component standards (CORBA and EJB). The assumption is that the web technologies defined above are not a threat for component standards as such but only a means of exposing the enterprise services to the web. One can integrate the services provided by different companies using middleware solutions like EAI but they only provide a point-to-point integration.
