Compressed Sensing for Networked Data
Source: University of Minnesota
Imagine a system with thousands or millions of independent components, all capable of generating and communicating data. A man-made system of this complexity was unthinkable a few decades ago, but today it is a reality - computers, cell phones, sensors, and actuators are all linked to the Internet, and every wired or wireless device is capable of generating and disseminating prodigious volumes of data. This system is not a single centrally-controlled device; rather it is an ever-growing patchwork of autonomous systems and components, perhaps more organic in nature than any human artifact that has come before.
