Connecting The Digital Home
Source: Ericsson
Until now, connected-home solutions have been cumbersome and expensive to implement, operate and maintain. But this need not be the case - an open, standardized and horizontal approach to connecting the home solves these problems. It also gives operators an end-to-end, managed and multiservice, multiplay platform that features a simple, single point of delivery for all services to the home. The emerging digital home market is rapidly taking shape and growing. This is thanks primarily to standards from the likes of the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) and the Universal Plug and Play Forum (UPnP Forum) that allow consumer electronics devices to share content without a complicated configuration process.
