Data Center Virtualization and Orchestration: Business and Financial Justification
Source: Cisco Systems
Over the past several years, virtualization of server, network, and storage resources has received a lot of IT, media, and vendor attention because of its promise for reducing both capital and operating expenses within the enterprise. For service providers virtualization offers a refreshed business model for outsourcing customer applications and for locating these applications within their regionally managed data centers with well-defined and secured partitions. For enterprises, virtualization offers data center consolidation and reduced power and cooling costs and often defers the need for additional data center sites. Virtualization decouples the application environment from the constraints of the hosting computing, network, and storage hardware.
