Data Modifications and Versioning in Trio
Source: Stanford University
Motivated by a diverse set of applications including data integration, deduplication, scientific data management, information extraction, and others, the Trio project at Stanford has been studying the combination of uncertainty and lineage as the basis for a new type of database management system. In this paper, the authors address data modifications and versioning in Trio. Prior to this paper, their work in Trio had been focused on data modeling and query processing. The presence of uncertainty and lineage in Trio significantly changes the issues in data modification from those in traditional databases.
