Data Ownership and Enterprise Data Management: Leveraging Technology to Get Control of Your Data (Part 2)

Technologies needed to support enterprise data management are consolidating into a suite of tools that share metadata. These tools are now being extended to support data discovery, data profiling, data cleansing, data integration and data monitoring. In particular, these technologies need to support metadata management as well as data management. Finally, tools in an Enterprise Data Management (EDM) suite also need to be capable of integrating with infrastructure software such as message brokers, portals, business process management, enterprise services buses and other data integration products that may already exist in the enterprise.
