Delay Tolerant Network Routing Based on Rendezvous Value (R) - A Theoretical Overview
Delay and Disruption Tolerant Networking deals with networks in challenged environment. DTN is part of the Inter Planetary Internet with primary application being Deep Space Networks. The terrestrial DTN has interesting research applications which also act as test beds for addressing its open issues such as naming and addressing, message formats, data encoding methods, routing, congestion management and security. In this paper, a DTN routing scheme based on Rendezvous value is proposed. In DTN, the routing is effective when the bundle is passed to a node that has a better chance to meet (Rendezvous) with one or more of intermediate hop nodes. Rendezvous value (R) is considered as a possible criterion for enhancing the existing DTN routing schemes.
