Dell™ Proconsult Windows 7 Readiness Assessment FAQ
Source: Dell
What is the Microsoft®Windows®7 Readiness Assessment (W7RA)?
W7RA is a gap analysis of a customer's ability to migrate to Windows 7 in a given timeframe. Your migration project is evaluated in terms of Dell's Best Practices learned from internal and customer Windows 7 migration projects.
Can Dell use reports for asset management from our existing asset management tools instead of requiring deployment of the Dell supplied hardware and software discovery tools?
No, unfortunately. Hardware and software are the two biggest components of a Windows 7 migration. The W7RA asset discovery toolset was chosen for its ability to return comprehensive asset discovery data pertinent to the Windows 7 migration. Our customers with existing asset management tools consider Dell's discovery data to be an excellent audit point for their existing tools.
Are printers or other peripherals physically located during the hardware scan?
