Desktop Virtualization: Implementing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) With HP
Source: Hewlett-Packard (HP)
The unprecedented pace at which new technology is being introduced into the marketplace is driving an explosion of new ways to compute, communicate and share knowledge. Increases in network reliability and the reduced cost of bandwidth, along with innovations in hardware and new approaches to application management have spawned promising new approaches to personal computing. One such area is "Centralized" computing, often termed "thin client computing". HP collectively refers to these approaches as "Remote Client Solutions". Regardless of the term used, the strategy is to deploy thin client user devices running a lightweight operating system with little or no resident applications. With no hard drive and no moving parts, thin clients are designed to provide 7-10 years of service.
