This paper will discuss how higher education institutions are using desktop virtualization to lower costs; reduce their carbon footprint; provide better access to campus computing resources; quickly deploy and update software; and - most importantly - satisfy the diverse needs of students, faculty and researchers to create an ideal environment for higher education learning needs.
