Developing Context and Location Aware Wireless Devices (CLAWD) Protocol in NS2
Source: University of Salford
Development of a new communication protocol, the CLAWD protocol, using network simulator 2 is proposed to simulate context and location awareness for wireless devices. The CLAWD protocol is specifically designed as part of the CLAWD system and its operation includes relaying context and location information over different wireless technologies, i.e. Bluetooth and 802.11 WLAN, in a mobile ad-hoc network. The implementation of the functionalities required several modifications, recompilation, and vigorous testing within the NS2 simulation tool. Different simulation scenarios are devised to examine the implemented functionalities in detail, and the simulations demonstrate positive results.
