Developing Rich Internet Applications (RIA) Using the SAS Intelligence Platform

This paper discusses how to develop Rich Internet Applications (RIA) using tools such as Flex with SAS as a service provider. Exposing the powerful SAS platform as a service endpoint through its Java API, one is able to inject real intelligence into business applications. The paper provides an architectural overview and technical discussion of each component used including SAS, Eclipse, RIAFusion plug-in, Flex, Jboss, and Java. The paper highlights the SAS Integration, Service registration, and Flex development steps required to realize this SOA application development construct.
