Disaster-Response Teams Use Open Sync to Speed Communication in Emergencies
Source: Microsoft
Strong Angel III was a demonstration held in August 2006 to define better ways of using communications technology to support collaboration between military and humanitarian teams during emergencies. A principle objective of Strong Angel III was to demonstrate rapid interoperability between incompatible systems of cooperating organizations, and exchange data among multiple data types. Microsoft provided a data format and synchronization algorithm called FeedSync that provides a means for bidirectional data flow between different applications, operating systems, and devices.
