Distributed Mobile Disk Cover - A Building Block for Mobile Backbone Networks

The novel hierarchical architecture of Mobile Backbone Networks has been recently studied by a few different approaches. An important sub-problem related to the design and operation of such networks is the problem of constructing and maintaining a Geometric Disk Cover (GDC) under mobility. While from the context of static nodes and centralized solutions the GDC problem has been extensively studied, the Mobile GDC problem did not receive much attention. They present two new algorithmic approaches for the solution of this problem. These approaches significantly differ from previously presented approaches.
