Dual Boot: Windows Compute Cluster Server and Rocks Cluster Distribution
Source: Microsoft
This paper describes the installation and configuration of a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster for a dual boot of Windows Compute Cluster Server (WCCS) and Rocks Cluster Distribution (formerly called NPACI Rocks), an open source Linux distribution intended for HPC clusters. The method described in this white paper focuses on manipulating a node's Master Boot Record (MBR) and boot loader. Because HPC clusters represent a significant investment of resources, maximizing the benefits of the existing investment can result in huge savings.
