As a worldwide law firm with more than 1,500 attorneys in 23 offices, Reed Smith has an extensive IT infrastructure. Reed Smith decided to consolidate datacenters and move to a centralized Citrix environment. It needed insight into how its end users - attorneys and staff - experienced performance of its Citrix applications. Reed Smith took a two-prong approach in using Compuware Vantage as its IT service management solution. To start, the firm's IT unit established realistic baselines for the migration. Vantage collected key user transactions and performance metrics, and IT teams compared the time spent on client-side processing, network transmission and server processing as applications migrated to Citrix.
