Ensuring the Integrity of Airline Tariff Data and the DB2 Structures in Which It Resides
Source: BMC Software
As early as the 1940s, the airline industry recognized that centralizing the distribution of airline tariff s would be essential to containing costs and ensuring the fast, efficient pricing and issuance of tickets. Ultimately their consolidation efforts resulted in the founding of Airline Tariff Publishing Company (ATPCO). ATPCOs Manual processes dragged down productivity and sometimes resulted in errors that threatened data availability. To master this issue ATPCO chose BMC Software. ATPCO deployed BMC CATALOG MANAGER for DB2 and BMC CHANGE MANAGER for DB2. With these solutions the company able to automate processes for changing DB2 structures, moving data and tracking changes in the company's test environments.
