Epicor Software Case Study: The Manufacturing Institute
Source: Epicor Software
As a non-profit organization, over 13,000 manufacturers have benefited from the proven, hands-on productivity and skills improvements that The Manufacturing Institute delivers. To this end, The Manufacturing Institute formed a cross-functional team to look at business process re-engineering alongside the deployment of a new business system. By mid-2004, this committee of representatives from the training, accounting, sales, consulting, human resources and IT departments at The Manufacturing Institute considered 13 software candidates based on a 300 point weighted selection criteria over a four month period. The selection criteria looked at product functionality, stability, usability, installed base and the ability of the vendor to execute and support the system with a shortlist including Maconomy, Deltek Vision, Siebel, SharpOWL and Changepoint by Compuware. By the end of 2004, Epicor for Service Enterprises was deemed the unanimous winner by the selection group.
