Ergon Energy Saves US$5.49 Million for CAD Licensing With Document Collaboration Solution
Ergon Energy was formed in 1999 through the merger of six electricity boards in Queensland, Australia. Ergon Energy identified a need to manage the large number of technical drawings located across the six merged locations. These documents and drawings contained information regarding its vast electricity distribution assets, which included power lines, distribution systems, sub-stations, remote power generation sites, and power transformers. Ergon Energy required a repository to store these documents, which typically included AutoCAD (DWG), MicroStation (DGN), scanned images, and hybrid files. To address these challenges, Ergon Energy deployed an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) as a central repository to store and manage documents.
