Erlanger Boosts Back Office Functionality for Improved Patient Care

Erlanger Health System is a public non-profit, academic teaching five-hospital system affiliated with the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Erlanger Health System wanted to manage a complex supply chain while delivering a spectrum of health services to more than a quarter-million people each year and lower supply costs and ensure better healthcare delivery. The challenge was to stop using clinicians' time for supply chain management tasks. Erlanger Health ensured nurses are no longer responsible of performing inventory counts, allowing more time to bedside care and interfaced with hand-held devices to transmit counts directly into PeopleSoft Enterprise Supply Chain Management system.
