ESG Lab Report: HP PolyServe Software for Microsoft SQL Server White Paper - Highly Available SQL Server Consolidation

Database applications are increasingly being deployed on cost-effective industry-standard servers using Microsoft SQL Server. Third-party application and in-house developers have embraced SQL Server due to its low cost and ease of deployment. This has produced a phenomenon in recent years known as SQL Server sprawl. With each database application typically deployed on its own server, SQL Server sprawl leads to poor utilization, inadequate availability, and a management burden for system administrators. SQL Server sprawl is making it increasingly difficult to protect, upgrade, and manage an ever increasing number of SQL Servers.
