Establishing a Reliable Test Setup for 802.11n Devices
Source: University of Colorado at Boulder
The past few years has seen an explosive growth in the Wireless LAN market. WLAN chipset sales has increased tenfold in the last five years; nowadays more than 90% of the notebooks PCs have built-in WLAN. Increasing number of WLAN users and increasing need for applications like Voice over IP, audio and video streaming, gaming has led to the need for higher throughput and higher data rates. IEEE 802.11 working group came up with a new 802.11n standard to meet these requirements. 802.11n can offer higher throughput with PHY and MAC layer enhancements and higher reliability compared to the legacy 802.11 products.
