Cloud computing, which refers to services provisioning and consumption over the Internet, is the latest paradigm promising to deliver computing as a utility. Though it is still in its infancy and facing many challenges, cloud computing has drawn and is drawing more interest from both academia and industry. Taking grid computing as the baseline and using the findings in Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) research, this paper tries to answer such questions as why cloud computing is so attractive and how to make the vision of cloud computing really come true.
