Strategy is execution. If there's one lesson that can be pulled out of the dot-com bubble of the late 1990s, it is that successfully executing strategy is what creates value. There were plenty of interesting strategies that were funded - online exchanges, advertising-funded online entertainment, and the like - but the ones that survived were the ones who could execute to deliver a return on their investment.
