Source: The Center for The Business of Government
This report explores the prospects of mobile government (m-government), an extension of the growing movement toward electronic government (e-government). Specifically, the paper looks at the current-status of mobile-technology applications at the state level, reviewing the relevant literature on m-government and some best-practice examples, particularly in the area of emergency management related to natural disasters and public safety. This report also analyzes the data collected from two m-government surveys conducted to identify the current-status of mobile-technology utilization among states as well as among Texas state agencies.
