Fundamental Technology Research of RP&M Integrated Manufacturing System Based on STEP-NC

Rapid Prototyping & Manufacturing (RP&M) is a great breakthrough in manufacturing area. It has been widely used in areas like consumer electronics, automobile, aerospace, industrial design and medical, etc. However, there are many issues in the STL data interface used by current RP&M system that hinder the implementation of integrated manufacturing system. This paper proposed a solution of using STEP-NC as the unified data interface to construct RP&M integrated manufacturing system. It also investigated several fundamental technique issues related with it.
