Genetic Zone Routing Protocol
Source: JATIT
In multi-hop wireless networks such as ad hoc networks, mobile users need to communicate where there is no fixed networking infrastructure or no time to create such an infrastructure. The idea of ad hoc networking is sometimes also called infrastructure-less networking. Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs) are created dynamically. The dynamic nature of MANETs provides special challenges beyond those in standard data networks. In such networks, each mobile node operates not only as a host but also as a router, forwarding packets for other mobile nodes in the network that may not be within direct wireless transmission range of each other. Each node must cooperate dynamically establish routing among themselves.
