Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), a research centre of the Helmholtz Association in Germany, is one of the world's leading centers for research in the structure of matter and for photon science. There was demand to analyze huge volumes of scientific data doubling every year and existing networking resources unable to manage increase in demand. DESY deployed Cisco Data Center 3.0, Cisco Data Center Networking and Cisco Nexus next generation data center technology.
