Given Imaging Gains Business Insight With SAP ERP on IBM BladeCenter

Given Imaging, based in Yoqneam, Israel, develops and markets innovative solutions for the healthcare industry. Given Imaging wanted to improve its business reporting capabilities and offer new services to customers via its Web portal, but its existing ERP environment could not support the required functionalities. The company wanted to upgrade its SAP ERP software, and needed a high-performance hardware platform to support the new applications. Given Imaging upgraded to SAP ERP 6.0, migrating its SAP applications from its existing servers to three new dual-core 64-bit IBM blade servers in an IBM BladeCenter. Storage is provided by an IBM System Storage DS4800 disk system, which is backed up to an IBM 3584 Tape Library using IBM Tivoli Storage Manager.
