Source: Juniper Networks
Gmarket is the number one online shopping mall in Korea and the first e-commerce company in the country to be listed on NASDAQ. Off late, Gmarket experienced significant growth in network traffic due to an increase in transactions. The company, which had been operating a 2-3 gigabit-class service network, decided to upgrade to a 10 gigabit dual line, becoming the first e-commerce company in Korea to transition to a 10 gigabit network. To meet its service goals without compromising performance, Gmarket decided to replace its existing firewall with a 10 gigabit-class high volume solution. Gmarket introduced two Juniper Networks NetScreen-5400 gigabit firewalls. Another two units were subsequently added, bringing the total installation to four units.
