GMK Centric Closes Books on IT Management Stress With Virtual Application Delivery
Source: Microsoft
IT staff at accounting firm GMK Centric struggled with an endless cycle of application updates to keep up with changing regulations. Deploying each upgrade manually to more than 90 computers could take up to two days. The firm also had to maintain multiple versions of common accounting packages, causing compatibility and licensing issues. Off late, GMK Centric engaged Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Southern Cross Computer Systems to build a standard operating environment and use Microsoft SoftGrid Application Virtualization to deliver applications over the network to users' desktops. These technologies allowed applications to be upgraded in 60 minutes rather than two days. The new environment reduced the workload on IT staff, eliminated compatibility problems, and helped improve security and licensing compliance.
