Governance for the Insurance Industry: Service-Oriented Architecture
Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) continues to generate a lot of attention in the business press and in IT circles. SOA flew through the "Flavor of the month" and "Next big thing" hype phases with such speed that there's simply no denying that it's here to stay. A proven best practice to maximize SOA value is to instill effective, enterprise wide SOA governance models. This will ensure that the services on which SOA is built are managed and re-used properly. Specifically, governance models define who "Owns" the services or has final responsibility for determining the circumstances under which services can be modified. Further, governance will help companies scale SOA-enabled processes and operations quickly and efficiently - especially important in Europe and other markets undergoing cross-border regulatory shifts.
