The Ministry of Economy and Finance in Greece is responsible for establishing budgets and economic reform policies. The Ministry has witnessed a steady increase in the number of employees who are mobile or working from remote locations and require access to sensitive data. The agency sought to provide employees with mobility options, while simplifying IT management, and maintaining the security of its systems and the confidentiality of critical information. The Ministry decided to deploy the Windows Vista Enterprise operating system and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 to 8,000 desktop computers and 2,000 laptop computers. After completing application compatibility testing, the Ministry began the upgrade in March 2008. It plans to complete its deployment by June 2008.
