Grupo Porteo is a Mexico-based logistics provider that implemented eSipo with the help of LANSA business partner eSipo Technology. eSipo is a LANSA-based web solution that allows end-to-end tracking of the delivery cycle between Grupo Porteo's manufacturing customers such as 3M, Bayer, Johnson & Johnson, L'Oréal, Nabisco, Philips, Sony and retailers such as Wal*Mart, Sanborne, Chedraui and Gigante. With the assistance of this LANSA-based solution the company was able to provide customers with online information of the process. This made the company 100% accountable and transparent to customers. The company was born from integration of four logistics providers, each with independent legacy system. This made it difficult to operate as a single entity. At the same time, it was important to have a solution that could meet requirements of the dynamic market and react on time. Visual LANSA was therefore developed as a distribution and tracking solution for manufacturers and third-party logistics providers. Using the LANSA architecture, the logistics provider was able to develop an integrated application in an all-Windows environment. Before the implementation of LANSA, each branch of the company had its own set of the data and applications of each company. Therefore, eSipo came as a single solution to one company that integrated four companies.
